Terms of Use

Journal is licensed, not sold, to you for use only under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”). The terms on this page supplement the Standard EULA. If there is any conflict, the Standard EULA governs your license to use the app. You can read Apple's Standard EULA at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

Journal 1.0 is a free app. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no trials, and no paid tiers. We do not bill you for anything, and the app collects no payment information.

You own your journal and reminder content and are responsible for it. Exported files (Markdown, plain text, PDF) are readable documents, so protect them accordingly. Encrypted backups require the passphrase you chose — lost passphrases cannot be recovered, and you are responsible for remembering them.

Use the app only as permitted by law. Do not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the app's security or encryption features.

The app, its design, and its content (excluding your own writing) are the property of Tag Studios LLC and are licensed, not sold, to you under Apple's Standard EULA.

The app is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tag Studios LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including data loss — please keep backups.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page with a new “last updated” date.
